Obwalden is typically accessed from the A8 motorway. The cantonal capital of Sarnen is a 15-minute drive from the city of Luzern. Three times an hour, the suburban train makes the 25-minute journey to Switzerland’s cultural capital. Zurich airport is 90 minutes away, either by car or by rail. Zurich, Bern and Basel are around 70 minutes away by road.
